Maple Sugar Toffee
Toffee Creations
I’m not really an expert in toffee. I can tell you if I like a toffee or not, and I can tell you why I might like a particular toffee, but I really don’t know much about the origins of toffee or the ingredients in toffee at all. I know what I like about toffee and that’s about it. A say this because this particular toffee is labelled as “Maple Sugar Toffee” and I’m not 100% sure what kind of sugar regular toffee is made from. I guess it’s probably not maple or these guys wouldn’t have put it on the package and they would have just called it toffee.
After opening this toffee it has become completely clear that this toffee is different than others. The Maple flavour pretty much takes over my entire nasal passages. Even if this toffee sucked (which it doesn’t but more on that later) than it would be safe to say that this stuff would make a great air freshener. The smell of toffee really is underused in my household as a means of freshening up the smellier parts of some closets and near dirty receptacles.
The toffee as is the case with all of the Toffee Creation toffees is spectacular. Although this isn’t one of their most original ideas of flavouring it still tastes great. The nut to toffee ratio is perfect, the toffee is crunchy and doesn’t stick to my teeth, and it’s just a nice sweet flavour. My only complaint is that the maple flavour is a little weak in flavour as it is in smell. I’d like a slightly stronger maple flavour to give me that true maple experience.
Raspberry Love Toffee
Toffee Creations
For those people out in the world that say all Toffee is the same, well my friend you have no idea what you're talking about. Sure many Toffee's are similar, not that it's a bad thing, for the most part I love any kind of toffee. However once in a while, particularly with small candy companies, something new comes out that blows my toffee mind. Actually that really doesn't happen to me that often, maybe once or twice in my life.
The thing is the folks at Toffee Creations have decided to mix fruit with Toffee. I use the word "mix" because they didn't just flavour their toffee, oh no, instead they have bits of dried raspberry in and on each chunk of toffee. I know it's real because one of the only drawbacks to this snack is the occasional Raspberry seed gets stuck in your teeth. I assure you this is the kind of drawback I could get used to.
The toffee itself is nice too, it's crunchy, sweet and has just the right amount of toffee burnt flavour. In fact the flavour of this treat is a lot more detailed than one might think, after all if the toffee flavour was too strong it would kill the raspberry flavour. Fortunately I still taste both and surprisingly the taste works well together. Did I also mention that it doesn't stick to your teeth? I'm not sure if this is traditionally a good or bad thing with toffee but in my book it's a good.
Our Sweet Talk
DELICIOUS toffee!! I ordered a medium bag 10 oz for my husband for Christmas. It was gone 2 days later!! We ordered the rasberry and it was wonderful. Included in the purchase was a sample of the brown sugar and strawberry toffee, both were very good. Very fast delivery and beautiful packaging. We will definitely order again! Thanks April!!

April sent me some of her Gourmet toffee. My favorite was the almond. I couldn't stop eating it! The flavor was incredible. I also enjoyed the orange creme. It tastes just like a cream sickle. The other two flavors I sampled were Raspberry and Strawberry. These two flavors were very good as well. The flavoring was not overpowering. I would highly recommend Toffee Creations for any occasion.
